Heat Wave

Liam has had a busy few weeks and is doing great as he approaches his first birthday!  He is standing on his own and just on the cusp of taking steps, his big blue ball is definitely an incentive.  We're slowly trying to get him to sleep better at night and he's just fallen asleep after only 10 minutes of crying, not bad!  He's getting better at playing games, initiating peek-a-boo and starting to clap his hands when he hears music.  He's also so aware, when someone walks into a room he looks their way and says "bapf?" hopefully soon it'll be mama and dada :)  He is a great eater for the most part, he'll try pretty much anything on his tray and will pull your hand towards his mouth if you're eating something that looks good.

We went down to visit Papa and Gigi in Austin and go to Tommy's friend's wedding, it was a great long weekend.  Liam did great in the pool as long as someone was holding him!

Had to improvise with umbrellas and toys to shade from the blazing Texas sun!

Hi Uncle Charlie!

First experiment with Jello, messy but fun!

Then mid-week we bought Dad a car!  The Expedition needed some work and we decided to make a change, so we drove down to Fort Smith, AR and got a good deal on a decked-out Ford Fusion, very exciting.

Nana, Keeley and Keara came down for a few days of summer break and we did some swimming, playing at the splash pad and lots of hair-braiding.  They are already great babysitters!

And after so much activity Liam came down with a little cold so we stayed in and recuperated for a few days.

All better now though!

As a sidenote, due to no effort or talent on our part, our garden was a big success this year, lots of tomatoes and zucchinis!
