We have been home with Grace now for almost 3 weeks and she is doing great! We were lucky to have Nana come to stay, play and take care of us for a couple of weeks and now Daddy has some time off of work, so we are getting used to life as a family of 4. It's hectic but fun so far!
Liam seems to have grown up so quickly the past few weeks, he's understanding so much more, playing games, singing songs, playing pretend, it's pretty fun to watch. He is working on being "gentle" with baby, he "checks if she's wearing a hat," "hugs" and gives her the "sign of peace" (handshake) a little roughly sometimes but is so sweet for the most part.
Baby Grace is a sweetheart. She sleep a lot, obviously, but eats well and is wide awake for an hour of sweet ooh faces and looking around after sleeping for two or three. It's hard to believe that Liam still wasn't born yet by her gestational age but she's pretty easygoing so far. She hardly cries at all, just grunts a lot!
She had a little bout with jaundice a few days after we left the hospital and she had to go "under the lights" for two days. It didn't last long and other parents have it much worse but it was kind of hard not to be able to hold her for so long. 4 heelsticks in 5 days was difficult too, but she was back to normal by one week so in the clear now. She's done trips to the zoo, the farmers market, the playground, the mall - busy girl!
